About this training
This workshop covers the administration and scoring of ADOS-2 Modules 1–4 and the Toddler Module through lecture, full-length video demonstrations, and guided scoring practice. Participants score administrations alongside a certified independent trainer, with detailed discussion of coding decisions after each demonstration.
The aim is a working understanding of the instrument: how it was developed, what its psychometric properties do and don't support, how to select the right module for an individual's age and language level, and how to interpret results appropriately as one part of a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation.
This training is required for anyone planning to use the ADOS-2 in clinical or school settings, and is a prerequisite for the advanced / research workshop. As with any standardized instrument, additional practice with administration and scoring after the workshop is needed to build real competence.
Learning objectives
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

Describe the purpose and structure of the ADOS-2 and its role within a comprehensive autism evaluation.

Who should attend
This training is designed for clinicians, researchers, and educators with a background in autism spectrum disorder and formal testing. Participants typically include speech-language pathologists, clinical and school psychologists, physicians and pediatricians, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, social workers, behavior analysts, and autism specialists.
Prerequisites
This workshop assumes you already have education, training, and experience administering standardized assessment tools and test batteries, whether through graduate clinical training, coursework, or supervised practice, along with a background in autism spectrum disorder.
Whether use of the ADOS-2 falls within your scope of practice is determined by your license, credential, and employer, and varies by state and discipline. Verifying this is your responsibility before registering.

Materials and resources
We provide the ADOS-2 protocols and all training materials. When you register you'll receive your Zoom link, a link to the protocols, and access to a shared drive of training materials you can keep and return to afterward.
We recommend having an ADOS-2 manual to reference during the training. An ADOS-2 kit is not needed to attend a training. Manuals are available from Western Psychological Services at wpspublish.com.
Certificate of completion
Participants who attend the full training and complete the post-training evaluation receive a certificate of completion documenting contact hours: 13.0 for the two-day introductory training, 6.0 for the Toddler Module, or 19.0 for all three days.
Many state licensing boards accept a certificate of completion with documented contact hours for self-reporting, but requirements vary by state and discipline, so check with your board if you need credits for renewal. Partial credit isn't available, so full attendance is required.
Cancellation and refunds
To cancel and receive a refund, notify us in writing at least 15 days before the first day of the training; refunds are issued less a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations received later than that are not eligible for a refund, and no-shows are not refunded. If we cancel a training you'll receive a full refund or a transfer to another date.

ADOS-2 advanced / research reliability workshop. For clinicians and researchers who plan to use the ADOS-2 in research and need to establish research reliability. Prerequisites are prior attendance at an ADOS-2 introductory training and substantial experience assessing autism. Advanced workshops aren't run on a public schedule. They're arranged directly with research groups, clinics, and training sites. Get in touch to discuss dates and format.
ADOS-2 booster training. A half-day refresher for people who have previously attended an ADOS-2 introductory training and want to sharpen their administration and coding. The group scores a full administration together, comparing codes and working through disagreements with the trainer. Booster trainings are arranged by request for groups. Inquire about scheduling one for your team.
